Trelavour Downs

A housing development project involving the demolition of an old, dilapidated cottage and the erection of a pair of semi-detached houses. Other properties surrounding the site were a mixture of two storey houses and dormer bungalows, and in order to match in with the existing roof heights the new properties were designed with canopy ceilings and half dormers at first floor level.

The site is bounded on three sides by very thick earth and stone Cornish hedges, and in several places these will be cut back and re-faced to reduce their width, creating more space for the new houses. New retaining and stone boundary walls create a level garden adjacent to the raised private drive that runs alongside the site.

At ground floor level there is a large open plan living area, with French doors opening to a private rear garden area. At first floor level there are three bedrooms, with sun pipes bringing light into the central hallways.
