South Torfrey Games Room

This project was for the design of a special games room on this well established farm diversification holiday complex, to complement previous barn conversions to holiday let, details of which are available elsewhere on the web site.

The games room has been designed as a single storey ‘L’ shaped timber framed building and is finished in horizontal timber cladding.

The roof is slate covered, as surrounding buildings. Timber framed windows and doors were specially designed and built to match adjacent barn conversions.

The main criteria for the new building was to include a special “Endless Pool” style hydrotherapy swimming pool, particularly installed with disabled persons in mind. The pool has been installed below the main floor level to assist access to the pool by even the most disabled users.

Another feature available in the building is a sauna room, adjacent to the hydrotherapy pool. Changing and toilet facilities are also available for general use.

The remainder of the building is designed to be able to accommodate large pieces of equipment such as a table tennis, or pool table.

As with many buildings on the complex, disabled persons access was paramount and this building was also designed to have ease of access, which is via a small ramped approach to a level landing area.

Status: Building works complete.
